Privacy notice
How we handle personal information, under the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013.
⚠ Before this goes live. This notice is accurate to how the website actually
behaves, and it is a sound base — but the fields marked [ ] must be completed, and
your Information Officer must review and sign it off. You sell POPIA compliance. Your own
privacy notice is the first document a sharp prospect will read, and the cheapest place to lose
their confidence. Delete this box once it has been reviewed.
Who we are
Siyakhula Holdings (Pty) Ltd (registration number [ registration number ]) is the responsible party for the personal information described in this notice.
- Information Officer: [ full name ]
- Email: info@siyakhulah.co.za
- Phone: +27 82 715 5277
- Registered address: [ physical address ]
What we collect, and why
We collect only what you choose to give us. If you complete the enquiry form on this site, we collect your name, email address, phone number, organisation, the topic you selected and your message.
Our lawful basis is your consent, which you give by ticking the consent box. We use the information for one purpose: to respond to your enquiry and, if it goes further, to carry on that conversation. We do not use it for anything else.
What we do not do
- We do not sell or rent your personal information. To anyone. Ever.
- We do not add you to a mailing list because you contacted us.
- We do not use advertising, analytics or tracking cookies on this website.
- We do not track you across other websites.
That last point is worth being plain about: this website sets no tracking cookies at all. That is why you were not shown a cookie banner. A banner asking permission to track you, on the website of a privacy consultancy, would be a strange thing to build.
Technical information
Our web server keeps standard access logs. When you submit the enquiry form, we store a one-way cryptographic hash of your IP address — not the address itself — purely to rate-limit abuse of the form. It cannot be reversed to identify you.
Who else sees it
Enquiries are stored on our hosting provider's infrastructure and emailed to our own team. We do not share enquiry data with third parties for their own purposes. Where a supplier processes data on our behalf, they do so under a written agreement and only on our instruction.
Fonts on this site are served by Google Fonts, which receives your IP address as a consequence of your browser requesting the font files. [ If you would prefer no third party sees this at all, the fonts can be self-hosted — a small change. ]
How long we keep it
Enquiries are retained for [ retention period — 24 months is a defensible default ] from your last contact with us, then deleted, unless we have a legal obligation or a live contract that requires us to keep them longer.
Your rights under POPIA
You have the right to:
- Ask what personal information we hold about you
- Ask us to correct it if it is wrong
- Ask us to delete it
- Withdraw your consent at any time
- Object to our processing of it
- Complain to the Information Regulator
To exercise any of these, email info@siyakhulah.co.za. We will respond within the period POPIA requires. There is no charge, and asking will not affect how we deal with you.
The Information Regulator
If you are not satisfied with how we have handled your information, you may complain to the Information Regulator (South Africa): inforegulator.org.za · complaints.IR@justice.gov.za
